Currently the students at St. Joseph Elementary have just completed all of their units for the Holiday season. The 2nd grade students studied Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet and attended the performance at the Krannert Center on Dec. 1st. The Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 3rd grade students provided some excellent Christmas concerts on Dec. 10th & 11th.
The students and I are looking forward to the concepts we will cover in our music classes when we return in January. This includes some fantastic instrumental units for the 3rd & 4th grade students. The 3rd grade students will begin a keyboarding unit to gain some basic piano skills in our classroom keyboard lab. The 4th grade students will become responsible owners of their very first instrument, the recorder. You can look forward to our 4th grade recorder concert that will take place in the Spring.

Miss Lenhart
Miss Lenhart is the K-4 General Music teacher for St. Joseph Grade School where she has been teaching general music for the past 3 years.
Miss Lenhart received her Bachelor's of Music Education from Illinois State University and will begin her Master's of Music Education at the University of Illinois this summer. She also has her Orff level I certification and is an active member of the Heart of Illinois Orff Chapter.
